Hi, I'm Jill.
Several years after graduating from a Christian college, I realized I was biblically illiterate. I dove into Bible study, trying to catch up with where I thought I should be. Along the way, I prayed a bold prayer. I asked God to correct anything I had learned wrong about Him or His Word.
Wow! What a ride!
Over time, I've adjusted my focus from simply knowing Scripture to experiencing a relationship with the Author.
For many years, I've been fascinated by the way God uses ordinary things to teach extraordinary truths. Whether I'm studying a passage of Scripture, creating Bible study resources, photographing a beautiful landscape, or sharing lessons learned through life's challenges, my goal is always the same: to encourage growth, reflection, and transformation.
My passion for Bible study led to the creation of Rooted in the Vine, where I develop resources that help Christians move beyond simply reading the Bible to truly understanding, experiencing, and applying it. I believe God's Word is not only meant to be read but lived.
When I'm not creating Bible study resources, you'll often find me behind a camera. Photography has given me the opportunity to capture the beauty of God's world and the everyday moments that remind us to be still, slow down, and appreciate His handiwork.
Like many people, my journey has included unexpected challenges that have shaped who I am today. Those experiences taught me the value of perseverance, continual learning, and approaching life with both faith and curiosity. They continue to influence the way I teach, create, and encourage others.
